What counts as a valid solution in Icelandic Letter Boxed?
A word is valid if it is at least three letters long, exists in Icelandic and never uses two consecutive letters from the same side of the square. Each new word must begin with the last letter of the previous one, so the solution is a single chain rather than a list of separate words.
The puzzle is solved once all twelve letters have been used, however many words it took. Every puzzle has a two word solution, but yours does not have to match it or be as short. Inflected forms are accepted, which helps more than it does in English: an awkward leftover letter can often be absorbed by putting a noun into the genitive. The twelve letters are chosen so that a solution always exists, so no puzzle is unsolvable. The bank holds 150 puzzles and one appears each day, the same for everyone.
